FATEA 2 "A Vodka For The Girl Who Changed My World" EP Review
When the man who won the FATEA Favourite Male Vocalist of 2006 releases a new EP, you tend to take notice and rightly so. "A Vodka For The Girl Who Changed My World" sees him experimenting with a more band driven sound. It works. I've always rated Quinn as a songwriter and the band setting really brings his songs to life. It adds a vibrancy, notably via the pedal steel and backing vocals. Strong songs, eloquently delivered make for a really dynamic EP. Niall Quinn is building on an already high standard, hopefully this will help him breakthrough to the wider audience he deserves.

NME - UNSIGNED BANDS SPECIAL - 22/29 Dec '07
Man City fans used to sing a song at their mildly prolific Irish striker Niall Quinn. It went: "Niall Quinn's disco pants are the best/They go up from his arse to his chest/They're better than Adam And The Ants/Niall Quinn's disco pants". Now it's unlikely that South London folk singer Niall Quinn covers this song, but if you do go to one of his shows I recommend you sing it really loud. OK, so it might not fit in with this peaceful, organic folk pitched somewhere between Kid Harpoon and Gram Parsons. In fact, if you start bellowing it during the soft jangle of 'Silly Little Girl' you'll probably be quite unpopular. www.nme.com/newmusic/niall-quinn
